So, we decided to ply this with some Shetland (the natural black fleece I've been working through had some really short bits) that was carded and spindle spun. We like how the art batt bits pop against the black. I like that I'm using some of the small bits of the fleece.

I decided to treat myself to something I've not used before.
This is a batt of mixed fibers (animal, vegetable, and sparkle) spun on a spindle made from discarded mahogany. It's been fun so far.
Did I buy fiber after dying 500 g of top last week? Umm, no comment...

A potential research topic: Many people, especially women, have a consistent body temperature that is lower than 98.7 °F. If body temperature is lower, it probably is an adaptation to using fewer calories to keep warm. It also means caloric intake recs are wrong. Thoughts?

The skylight in this building is amazing! This is where the Farm and Fiber Festival was held today in Boston. The festival was lovely. The parking situation was expensive and distant from the location, if you were able to find it.

If ICE is abolished, who does the necessary work of securing our borders? Coast Guard with military discipline?

We should not fund DHS without serious reform. We could return CBP to border. We could require warrants for immigration arrests. We could beef up training and require identification.
