Had dinner with a French colleague in Lyon last night. He like many of our EU friends wants us back in the EU. He said that the obvious disaster of Brexit at least turned the French rightwing off the idea of Frexit.

Our relationship with the EU has to be about far more than trade. It also has to be about culture, education, science, agriculture, climate change, biodiversity, travel, security, relationships, families, dreams. Why should a parcel or a packet of peas have more freedom of movement than a person?
