someday the nets will be good again
Lots of evil in the world right now but can we pause on the fact that ARSM took them to a restaurant called SEXY STEAK
Amon-Ra St. Brown gave Lions rookies a major scare with a $40K prank dinner tab.

The real bill was around $4K 😅

The suggestion that, because something vaguely similar happened to him in the past, he was right to kill her, is going to be the angle they go with here (Vance already whiningly has). A transparently stupid argument - that she should die because someone else did something else.

Alright just finished the game on a delay. I know a squeaker loss is best for the tank but I wanted that for Egor. Insane finisher and he would have earned some nice buzz for the win. Instead it (and the Magic's general underwhelming game) will be forgotten and Paolo's banker will get the love. Boo!

Here's the ICE agent "defending himself" by shooting into the driver's side window of a car that's pulling *away* from him.

Put this photo on the front page of every newspaper in America.

Good. Fuck em.

Dell seems to be the first to realise we don't actually care about AI PCs

It’s genuinely wild that the United States spent decades building an elaborate rules-based international order which de facto cemented its permanent status as the dominant global hegemon, sustained by ideology rather than might, and now is just blowing it all up for literally no reason

Kevin Durant. I will never tire of watching that fucking maniac

I love seeing all the GTA guys really going at Shai. They manage to get him a fair amount (like Nembhard in the playoffs) since they've been playing with him most of their lives.
Dillon Brooks stomps and makes a clear lane violation during Shai Gilgeous-Alexander's clutch free throw, causing him to miss his first free throw of the night.

SGA isn't happy about the no call by the referees

4/This is part of a broader phenomenon that @segoddard.bsky.social and I describe as neo-royalism. It is a world order based not on national interests but those of elite cliques pledged to absolute sovereigns.

This has all been so incredibly dark but this is the darkest part - the only people who can stop America are Americans, and a huge portion of the country are eager for a future of regime change and coercion. Nor is there a legal impediment or popular movement that will stop this.

Stunningly pathetic. If you're a non-American, especially in a country Trump has mused about owning, you would be an idiot not to see the precedent here
Stayed up all night shining his shoes for the Quisling auditions

The standard this creates - that if the US can generate an indictment in a US court it can seize anyone anywhere and justify any use of military force as a result - is so plainly horrifying it makes me ill
Look I don’t think it’s a stretch at all that these mf’ers can talk themselves into justifying military action in Colombia or Mexico. Dangerous times.

Yeah that game really showed me that I don't have the stomach for a true tank. That was a "good" loss by tanking principles - a beating by a team with a worse record - but it left me profoundly bummed out. You got embarrassed by fucking Alex Sarr! Good god!

Tuned in at the end of the half. The shooting is excruciating.

This is not an even fight, but I've been heartened by the defense. The rebounding and shooting, however...
Pretty good defense by Danny Wolf in isolation against Reed Sheppard. Wolf stayed with him on a couple of attacks by Sheppard, then forced him into a tough, contested pullup three.

I don't watch many OKC games at the moment since they're always too late on the east coast but I watched last night and I will never understand a) the SGA hate or b) the claim that OKC is boring. They're a blast.
Entering the new year, Shai is currently combining 2013 LeBron scoring efficiency with peak MJ scoring volume and turnover efficiency, even adjusting for era.

Stray Nets thought for the day: as much as I love the winning and the occasional nice comments from analysts, I am skeptical that this recent run of wins is more than noise. I would feel different had they beaten GSW. But to me this just screams "gentle schedule larded with tired and flawed teams".

Insane statline. Barnes is an odd player but should be an all star
Scottie Barnes was 🔥 yesterday:

✅ 23 PTS
✅ 25 REB
✅ 10 AST
✅ 3 STL

Barnes tied Bismack Biyombo's franchise record for most rebounds in a game.

He's just the ninth distinct player in NBA history to record at least 20p/25r/10a in a game.

I appreciate all the Nets folks on here, but after last night I am feeling a bit jealous of the Timberwolves presence on this app. Big community! Lots of people to get pissed off at Rob Dillingham together.
