Amateur pundit with a penchant for perms—never fight a man with one! Hailing from the same hometown as my moniker, though we never met. Former Raptors Republic partner. My opinions? More unpredictable and chaotic than the Dallas Mavericks front office. 🇨🇦🇩🇪
Bovino has been demoted and sent back to his local office. A number of his agents are leaving too. Great job Minneapolis!!!

More U.S. “consequences” threats now—this time from Hoekstra over Canada’s fighter jet decision, even dangling NORAD as leverage. At what point do we treat this like the hostile pressure tactic it is and send him home? Expel Hoekstra.

Adon’s piece this morning is peak Raptors whiplash: one night “trade everyone,” the next “playoffs, baby.” His thesis: no half-measures—either stand pat, or go all in and swing for a true star, because the East is a mess and nothing’s guaranteed.

Alex’s Sens regression piece is a must-read especially for Ottawa fans: “next step” season turned into blown leads, league-worst goaltending, a brutal PK—and no 1st-rounder to soften the fall. The Dorion hangover is real. What now?
The Ottawa Senators were supposed to take a step forward this season on the heels of a playoff appearance, instead they've fallen back.

Despite a great performance against Vegas, the #Sens playoff odds sit at 20%.

So how did we get here? And what's next?

Raptors have played 18 straight games without a true centre in the starting 5.

They're 12-6 since Dec. 23, tied for the 2nd-best record in the NBA.

They're holding teams to the 4th-lowest FG% at the rim, the 8th-fewest points in the paint & have outrebounded teams in 12 of 18.

Pretty rich for the Trump admin to scream “fraud in Minnesota,” then send in an official with a corruption/bribery cloud hanging over them. This won’t end well either.
Trump now says he is sending Tom Homan, who "knows and likes many of the people there," to Minnesota.

Raptors finish the road trip 4–1 and hand OKC just their 4th home loss of the season. Might be time for the league to put a little respect on our name. Great win—an even better trip. We’re coming home Canada.

If Scottie isn’t DPOY, there’s no way he shouldn’t be All-Defense. Watch the way he’s guarding Chet. Some elite D!

I will never slander Immanuel Quickley again. This man is on an unreal run right now.

Scottie Barnes on jump-ball tip wins is basically Claude Giroux on faceoffs. Automatic.

Season’s little over halfway. This feels like a great benchmark game vs one of the league’s best. Honestly, the Raptors are better than I’ve given them credit for. If we can find consistent 3s and a real big, a run in this weird East isn’t crazy.
January 26, 2026 at 2:16 AM
Jack Armstrong said IQ’s playing his best basketball of the season on this road trip—and he might be underselling it. This honestly feels like Quickley’s best stretch as a Raptor, period.

Gradey just showed Walter how it’s done from the baseline three. I’ll chalk Walter’s struggles up to rust—Dick, meanwhile, is money from his spot.

Carney’s not perfect, but his Daily Show chat with Jon Stewart last year sold me on one thing: he’s got an actual personality, a sense of humour, and he can take a punch without melting down. That already puts him ahead of a lot of leaders. I’m thankful every day we’re not represented by Poilievre.
So great to see a Leader with a sense of humour!

I’ve lost count of how many times analysts have written off Sam Darnold as “not good enough.” No matter what happens vs the Rams, he’s proven he’s one of the better QBs in the NFL.
January 26, 2026 at 1:36 AM
I’d like to personally take credit for Quickley’s recent run after my wildly overexaggerated criticism earlier this season. You’re welcome, IQ.
