I think us old hippies got a lot of it right in the 70's.
I follow politics closely, and I'm seriously concerned about the future of the US.
This poor little baby girl and named Nan was found this afternoon in the Adelaide Hills (Wistow). Only 3 weeks old and was hanging on a fence probably since last night. Starving and dehydrated she took some cool boiled water eagerly. Hopefully she comes good 🤞🤞 Bat Rescue South Australia Inc

Pete Hegseth is once again using the military and the Scouts as a stage for his fragile idea of manhood, railing that Scouting America is no longer a meritocracy and is supposedly out to destroy boy friendly spaces. He talks about “masculine values” like they are an endangered species, even as girls

When baby bats (pups) are orphaned and brought into care, they need to be bundled in a soft cloth to stay warm and feel secure, mimicking their mother's wing. Also, because they attach to their mother's nipple for comfort and security, not just food, they often require a dummy or pacifier to

A quick visit to old friends.

I had the chance to do a quick one hour shoot back in Melbourne last night before heading to the NZ sub-antarctic islands today, and of course visited my old friends.

They were magnificent as always.

Bats: our favorite creatures of the night (although we might be a bit biased).
But they're not the only nocturnal critters pulling an all-nighter. Our latest blog post explores some of the familiar (and maybe not so familiar) night-time fellows. Link in comments 🔗

Twisting military code, the Trump administration says “all orders” from the president are “lawful orders,” and troops have no right to question him. trib.al/pWSDF7A

The comments come as Hegseth weighs court-martialing a Democratic senator for his part in a video reminding troops to follow the law.

Wacky Weekend!

Some of our new patients this weekend included a couple of non-related bats. One being a Silver bat and the other a Mexican Free-tail bat. Both sustained patagium (wing membrane) tears.
The MFT was found in a house and thankfully, the people called to have her removed and not killed.

We've had a very busy few days with more orphans, barbed wire entanglements, dog & cat attacks.
A few more lucky souls in care and sadly some now resting over the rainbow bridge. And another microbat pup reunited with its mum and roost.
Pictured is Telopia, another baby rescued off powerlines.

Last Friday, I got a call for orphan no.8, but this one was a little different! This is an Eastern Tube-nosed bat and a very rare orphan to have in care. Only a small handful have been raised from this age and a first for me! Unfortunately, she was found clinging to her dead mum in someone's yard.
