One way flying foxes can cool down and hydrate themselves is by belly dipping. They'll scoot across the water just dipping their chest and bellies, sometimes even with a baby on board, which helps cool body temperature. They then will hang in a tree and drink water droplets off their fur.

This may not be relevant enough to post here but we’ll see. There was another Saturday morning animated series at the time Bullwinkle was running in the early 60s called King Leonardo and his Short Subjects, aka The King and Odie, which included a lot of adult humor like Bullwinkle. Anyone remember
