No spoilers but I’m pretty sure in Pluribus ep 4 we’re seeing an example of a narrowband homodyne signal search. An example everyone is probably familiar with is the search for the QCD axion, but this character appears to be doing something more complex and subtle.

If I knew a lizard who wanted to go to school this badly I would simply give them tiny pencils and tiny trapper keepers
There was a brief but weird trend at my high school of girls wearing lizards as earrings. Like. Live, unharmed, wild lizards. You just catch one and pick it up and wave a finger a bit and then hold it to your earlobe and they’ll bite and dangle all day. I do not recommend this but. it was a thing
The alligator lizard promptly bit the shit out of my finger.

Today the car was totally silent and I was thinking my little thoughts and then the 6yo says out of nowhere “hey what’s blackmail?”
Accidentally told a 2yo that oceans are battlefields:

What’s it called when a jazz musician kind of shouts into their flute? And was Keith Jarrett the first to do this? Ruta and Daitya came out in 1973 and I can’t believe there aren’t examples before this.

We rescued this dog. He is a stone cold sweetie. Extremely gentle with the kids, amenable to training. Today he ate some plastic bullshit the kids had left laying around and he let me reach into his mouth and take it out. Adoption has been a huge unqualified success.

Just for funsies I got an MMR titer test as part of my last blood panel and found that I no longer have immunity to rubella. Useful to know that you can get these things checked and that sometimes you learn useful stuff when you do!
