The whole thing seems so frought and unappealing. It always was, of course, but on a human, not industrial scale.
Perhaps not needing the liquid courage to initiate contact in person is why liquor sales have plummeted among young people.

It made me realize having the majority of dating happen through apps means they already start out w/many of the disadvantages of ye olde tymes long distance relationships. Even w/o AI intermediaries the written self is different than the in person self.

“They had a running program when I was drafted in the service and I just kept going up until a few years ago. I wrote it down every day. My son added it up…”

LOL, was trying to describe this flight from murky memory last week and I was worried I was padding the story when I said “…they fly and glide without stopping like, 3,000 miles!”
Did them wrong! Nearly 3X as many miles as my “exaggeration” and no gliding.
Beyond my paltry imagination.

I’ve always loved rec sports and was a real good weekend warrior for a while. Also got to stand on the field next to players for NFL, MLB for my job.
People don’t usually understand the athletes competing on that level are totally different. Most could have had scholarships in multiple sports.
