If you ever look at King Diamond’s work rate back then, he released something like 15 albums in 16 years. And all great-to-good material too, not an obvious ‘stinker’ in that run from 86-02.

Annihilator. “Alison Hell.” 1989. I liked the whole ‘schizo’ aspect of early Waters — like right down to his crazy quick vibrato, all that thrash was like a carnival of psychotic clownery. Now, you may proceed to tell me how their first 2 are their best 2. 😛

I really like Shape of Water, and funnily enough, I really like his comic movies too — I thought he did a good job with Hellboy, and Blade II is one of my fave comic-to-movie adaptations.

It’s my favorite Guillermo movie — and he’s done a ton of great work, but this one just hits different. As you said, a moving film for sure.

Can’t wait — I know it’s gonna be a massive CGI movie so it’ll probably look like a comic, but I think Trachtenberg is ok with that, especially if there’s a tie in with Weyland Yutani
