💧 Will you help protect Dorset's Water for Wildlife? 💧

Less than 15% of Dorset's rivers are in good condition, and 90% of the UK’s wetlands have disappeared in the last 100 years.

Dorset's rivers and wetlands need your help. 💧❗

Just £50 in donations will build a leaky dam, great for slowing and spreading the flow of water across the land, creating a mosaic of habitats for wildlife.

Did you know?

🌰 Red squirrels can remember several dozen hiding places for food, months after they buried it.

🌰 They can be left or right-handed, you can tell which by the way they hold a pine cone when eating. ~ Jack

But without water, both people and wildlife would not be able to survive. And with climate change, pollution and other human activities threatening the health and resilience of our water sources, it's more important than ever that we protect these powerful habitats. 💧❌

One of the survey volunteers, David, took these amazing images. Atlantic bluefin tuna can reach top speeds of over 40mph, so capturing a photo of them as they suddenly burst out of the water is incredibly tricky! Have you spotted tuna in Dorset? Let us know ~ Sarah 🐟

We were treated to a wildlife spectacle during the Sea Watch survey at Portland Bill yesterday. Atlantic bluefin tuna could be seen breaching throughout the survey. These incredible fish were absent from UK waters for many decades but are now frequently seen off the south coast during the autumn.
