But the bigger reason that you should write and make art, is that your work is someone else's respite.
You don't know who they are. They may be someone in the future. But if you have escaped into a book, or a painting, or a TV show... Someone created that.
You can do that for someone else.

I think a lot of us millennials & older really take it for granted that we were the last of only a couple generations where there was an all-encompassing campaign to encourage literacy. Everyone used to agree upon it. There were commercials with your favorite celebrities just being like, "READ!"

The grace we give others usually is not the grace we give ourselves. A person feels they need to be “perfect” to be liked, and all of the marketing mind games have done a number to convince us of this even though we like/love these things on others.
