My time at Mozilla has officially ended

For the past two years I've been contracting with Mozilla as a Sr. DevRel Engineer. While I've enjoyed and appreciate my time with the team, it's time for me to move on to the next challenge

But first, a long overdue break 🏝️🧘‍♂️😌

This year's GitHub Octoverse annual survey did a good job of correctly representing TypeScript & JavaScript as a single ecosystem.

When this combined data is omitted, it results in misleading takes.

I'm about ~10 hours into Arc Raiders

Good
- Solid "pick up everything you see" sim
- stumbling into another player and trading a toaster for a handful of berries
- Arc = robot spiders?

Bad
- pvp is 😮‍💨
- the big jumpy spiders are mean
- getting sniped just as you're about to leave a level

I accidentally pushed my laptop off the far end of my desk and now the backlight is doing this

1 (single monitor desktop) and 9 (laptop) are most of my life. I've found that having more screens is more distracting than helpful, but I've got the ADHDees so…
8 is my daily and 7 and 9 on the go. How about you?

The css-values-5 spec builds on top of css-values-4 – a so-called diff spec. This is mentioned in the intro:

> This is a diff spec against CSS Values and Units Level 4.

CSS spec folks, why doesn't drafts.csswg.org/css-values-5/ include the math functions from level 4?

I'm looking for some feedback on a Chrome Extension that I made.

I wanted to explore the user trails concept from the Memex.

Trails - chromewebstore.google.com/detail/trail... - allows you to create your own links between pages entirely locally and have them maintained across navigations.
Trails - Chrome Web Store
Create links between content on any web page and any other and have them persist.

If you’re using server-side AI models, you usually need an API key to call them. A couple of weeks back I made a video looking at how to handle that in a Chrome extension: youtu.be/pl4pz4nWa3w
How can you keep API keys safe in a Chrome Extension?

I think I'm bailing on Clair Obscur: Expedition 33. It's clearly a great game and I'm enjoying the story enough that I'm going to hunt down a cinematic compilation, but I've never been into JRPGs gameplay and I'm still chafing against it

I'm a bit late to this, but I've been surprised by reactions to Bun's acquisition because it seems relatively obvious to me; Anthropic needs a sandbox where their AI/agents can run untrusted code and Bun is a small, dedicated team focused on a bundled runtime for the world's most widely deployed JIT

I'm continually frustrated by the narrowness of digital systems

The example I think about most often is paper. Word processors are great, but you now what else is great? Putting your fingers between pages and flicking back and forth between them, writing reminders in the margins, 1/9
