Hence the labor supply and commerce reductions we are seeing and the labor demand reductions it intensifies. It’s a downward spiral, as the world decides the US is a less desirable place to work or do business or invest in. The demand for legal immigration by immigrants is falling.

In reality, Trump and Co. are revoking the legal status of people who have been fully documented and have (until Trump changed the rules) federal permission to live and work in the US. They're deporting whoever they can lay hands on and severely restricting new arrivals.

"Immigration crackdown" implies Trump is trying to deport children who lack legal status or statutory standing to remain in the US. What is actually happening here is that Trump is stripping children of their status in order to deport them, to pad his numbers.
