The new 𝝠 Expo home page is live: expo.dev

We were overdue for a new home that tells the story of what Expo has become: Everything you need to build apps.

We added more pages to explain how Expo serves different stages of business growth across different industries. We'll 🧵 some of those below ↓

Have you heard the good news?

California finished a project that will create tons of clean renewable energy & help prevent evaporation and algae formations while keeping solar panels cooler & more efficient.

This article made my day!

California's first solar-covered canal is now fully online
The 1.6-MW pilot system is among a growing number of initiatives to put solar over waterways. The approach could generate gigawatts of power nationwide.

there's a lot of exciting things going on in SDK 54, but the less exciting changes will hopefully make your upgrade smoother and your everyday DX with dependencies more stable 💕

All kinds of reliability improvements land in SDK 54!

Kirk’s murder is awful and ominous for this country. But no, we don’t need to honor him or “continue his work.”

I’m (not) sorry if it makes me a nerd but one of my favorite hobbies is trying out new versions of React Native and Expo while they’re in previews. @frankcalise.dev did a great write up on what’s got us excited about @expo.dev SDK 54.
Our team put @expo.dev SDK 54 to the test. 🔥

The results:
→ iOS build time cut by 35%
→ Dependencies “just worked” with smarter autolinking
