Aros park, Tobermory, Scotland, is a lovely peaceful sight. Take a break from the world and have a nice weekend!

A small lake covered with water lilies, is surrounded by trees. Some branches of the tress are reflected by the calm surface of the lake.

this iconic advertising copywriter named Kathy Hepinstall Parks died over the weekend and I wanted to share something from her website I thought Bluesky would like
Why should I write better when a machine can do it for me?
Because actually no one can do it for you, because your voice is unique among all the people on earth. Siri never petted a horse's neck. Alexa has never been ghosted by the captain of the football team. But you have lived, your heart is beating, you have suffered, and you have something important to say. It's a human's job, to use words, and whatever job you give to a machine, that part of your brain goes dark. Maybe it's worth it when it comes to remembering phone numbers and directions, but when that part of your brain that uses words goes dark, that's a vast area that's very close to your soul. Don't let some internet platform convince you that what you have to say and create isn't worthwhile. Words are the echo of your soul. Honing that echo matters.

Hello Sabine, this place is dear to me after having read the book and visited there twice. Therefore I share it with great pleasure and thank you for instigating this topic!

Not exactly a palace but definitely a very beautiful garden (which is bigger than what you see here) - the home of Iris and Antonio Origo ("La Foce) in Tuscany. It has a story to tell (see alt text).

##PalacesAndGardens #Myth&Legend #Italy #Tuscany #LaFoce #Origo #travelphotography
In this beautiful building lived and worked Iris and Antonio Origo who cultivated the La Foce estate, created the garden, supported the Italian partisans against the Nazi occupiers and saved a large group of children at the end of the second World War in the region. Iris wrote a moving account of the happenings which is published as "War in Val d'Orcia: An Italian War Diary 1943-1944". Visiting highly recommended and do not forget to take a stroll into the surroundings to the little cemetery where the Origos are buried.

#WindowsOnWednesday : Bavarian State Parliament in the Maximilianeum building in Munich

#travelphotography #window #chandelier #reflection #munich
A high window which ends in a half circle with ornaments at the upper end is almost black because it is night outside. The window pane reflects a modern chandelier which illuminates the room.

A model wearing a transparent white dress dances in nature on a small rock plate. A dark rocky mountain wall is visible in the back ground. On the right side a bigger rock is lit by a ray of sun light.

The gate of Fürstenried Palace in Munich.

#PalacesAndGardens #gates #Munich #München #Bavaria #travelphotography #FürstenriedPalace #SchlossFürstenried
Through the gate of Fürstenried Palace in Munich we look out towards the highway Munich-Garmisch-Partenkirchen. The columns on either side carry Bavarian lions and the gate is decorated with the crown of the Bavarian kings. The palace served as a home for King Otto from 1883 until his death in 1916. Otto never actively ruled in Bavaria because of a mental illness.

Marble Mountains for #MountainMonday

#travelphotography #marble #carrara #italy
The picture is looking up at an unusual mountain face - vertical walls and horizontal ceilings which show where marble blocks have been cut out of the mountain. Further up, the harsh straight lines are softened by fog. The place is Carrara in Italy where marble for many famous sculptures was found.

The Roman amphitheatre of Sutri in Italy was not built up with building stones but was excavated from the tuff rock in the 1st century AD.
