SIMON: I don't think Al can remotely challenge what writers do at a fundamentally creative level.
SHAPIRO: But if you're trying to transition from scene five to scene six, and you're stuck with that transition, you could imagine plugging that portion of the script into an Al and say, give me 10 ideas for how to transition this.

Hyper enthusiast, price-insensitive players are really keeping things going, especially in the non f2p gaming space.

According to Circana's Q3 2025 Future of Games, only 4% of US video game players buy a new game more often than once per month, with a third of players not buying any games at all.

My job is pushing all of it so hard but for all the wrong reasons. LLMs can be a tool, we've been doing machine learning forever, but I don't need copilot poorly trying to finish my code, or summarizing a meeting I was literally speaking at and took notes on. GenAI is just a plague.

Yeah, I tried dalle way back when it was new cause "haha funny image maker" and then all the stuff about how it was trained and environmental impacts of all these models came out and its like, yeah none of this is worth it.

If you're looking for retro textures I can really recommend @strideh.bsky.social's work! They offer three free packs and a premium one. They look really sharp, have a true Quake-feeling, can be used in commercial projects and were made without use of AI!

I took a step aside from Swordtember after this month, and wanted to try out more VFX stuff on Godot!

I followed a super tutorial by @Le_x_Lu (X) (link below) to get more confident with the Godot Visual Shader graph! 🌪️⚡

I've done 2D and 3D with #godot, but my UIs have always been pretty simple. Current project is going to be like 90% Control nodes and its wild how much I've missed on that side of the engine.

Should have something to share at the end of the week, but we'll see lol

Trying to streamline my game's UI lately

I'm not a big fan of the health and stamina box always stuck on the top left side of the screen.

Made it so that the stamina bar only appears floating near the player when needed.
