I wasn't planning on posting anything today. Then I ended up on chapter 15, wanting more so I figured I'd post it.
One of the problems with looking through the new novels on places like #RoyalRoad is that they're new and so there's less to read. "I Tricked A God" only has 15 chapters, but I was sucked in. An interesting regression story set in a fallen world of magic.

I Tricked a God [Regression] [Weak to OP]
Born with a soul mutation desired even by the Gods — perfect memory. Kael could recall every word, every book… yet not a single drop of mana. Mockery, beatings, a ruined family — and a desperate deal ...

A shame that "Child Genius" generally means the loss of childhood.

WOW it is wonderful to be alive. such a blessing i am so endlessly thankful for such a rare gift
For this story in particular, the Main Character is a kid who while they start in a low position, already has an innate tricksyness that I enjoy while still managing to be a clear hearted child. They also never lose who they are, still making use of the simple things they learned during childhood.
I love Cultivation stories ever since I got deep into light novels and XianXia specifically. "Immortality Through Array Formations" on #Scribblehub is a fun take on the genre with some interesting twists. It has hundreds of chapters and I've enjoyed them all.

I would guess suddenly only having 4 limbs would be quite shocking. That and needing to breathe.
The fact there are enough examples of this sort of story is somewhat amazing. Then again, I'm apparently not the only one who enjoys it. Maybe I should write a story in the genre?
I've always had a soft spot for the "guy joins VR game as archer and ends up OP despite people thinking archers suck" genre. Which thankfully for me, I found another good take on it or at #Scribblehub! VRMMO: Nerf the Archer! is a fun #LitRPG and worth a read! 💙📚🪐

VRMMO: Nerf The Archer!
Max is a regular guy who enjoys playing video games in the comfort of his home. However, he only enjoys playing if it’s a challenge, so he always plays on the hardest difficulty. When the first-ev...

Which given how much bleed the high fantasy sci-fi tech they have allows, is sort of required. Does a human stop being a human if their mind is transferred into a space squid? If they're uploaded to a computer? And what is the difference between a native squid or AI that is otherwise the same?
I like how this one sci-fi story I read handles it. If you come from our culture, you're a human. The humans, sapient AIs, short bake clones, uplifted animals, digitized people, people in new bodies, aliens who have integrated with them, and so on. You are a part of humanity if you have "humanity".
I could see myself falling into it. There's a reason you have to work on it. A routine can grind away the edges, but a couple isn't meant to be wheels spinning against one another. You need to mesh together like gears. Talking and gratitude in spite of the routine are what keep you turning together.
Though I will note that it feels like "deckbuilding" in novels is like "roguelike" in videogames. Yes the story uses cards and they are in a deck, but you just have access to them all. Nothing against it, as they also use other themes of deckbuilding, but it feels odd not to have the rng element.
As for the books on Amazon? They're telling the story of the MC living through the end of the world and the introduction of Magic, except the Archmage happened to be hiding out on the planet and gives them a chance. I'll be rereading those books after I finish with the ones on RoyalRoad.
Most of the books are free to read over on RoyalRoad. Though Druin has also released a series of books in the setting on Amazon that I've enjoyed. The first two books on RR follow the origins of an ongoing character, Sama Rantha, and are a fun romp. After that, the stories focus on the settings MC.
Going to try and be more active. As part of that, I've been rereading the Power of Ten series by R. E. Druin on #RoyalRoad. If you enjoy D&D, this is a wonderful series that brings it into other settings. The first 2 books are a classic D&D setting and WH40k 💙📚🪐

I'm doing a final editing pass of a short story I wrote earlier this year. Then I just have to draw a cover for it and I'll be publishing it to Amazon. I'm not going to bother with KU. I read a bit on it with my last published story and it didn't seem worthwhile.
My newest #story SoulDive:
They/Them, known online as May/Hem, is about to venture into the world of SoulDive, an immersive VRMMO. Within they'll take on the name Gem Paroxysm and bring their own brand of chaos to this #fantasy world of Magic and players. #furlit

my response is in the replies here on bluesky okay HERE WE GO. question is: do you ever begin to doubt yourself while writing?
A little different from my usual written work, but I'm dipping my toes into #YouTube #Lore videos to stretch my rusty video editing skills. Did a #FNAF lore vid, because of course I did. The skills are coming back to me, even if I've switched to using DaVinci for it.

It has been quite an adventure since the Kickstarter finished and I am so happy the story is finally published.
My #novel, Banished Talent, is now for on Amazon and my Patreon shop! I get more of a cut on Patreon, but I know that getting ebooks onto #kindle can be a hassle so feel free to buy on Amazon. At least that will help with the algo. #fantasy #furlit

Many US print companies use Canadian lumber for their paper. With 25% tariffs on Canadian imports going into effect on Tuesday, we’re expecting the costs of making books to go up.

This will affect all publishers.
Email from Ingram: “some book prices will go up. Some will go down.”

Unspoken: books are going to be more expensive.

Ingram is the primary printer and distributor for bookstores and libraries. They do both indie and trad pub. Expect delays and expense. Support authors and bookstores and libraries.
I'm happy to report that my Kickstarter reached its goal!
