It makes me thing of Mammoths delivering telegrams because as a kid I read "The Way Things Work" by David Macaulay as well as had the computer version and it used Mammoths to describe how tech worked in a lot of places to humorous effect.

And so was I. If it was an actual handful of loose carrots, that's one item as you shove them on the scale together. But that's not what matters. You don't judge it against whether the cashier knows the plu for yatia. Two bags of carrots takes the same time as a bag of carrots and a sleeve of Oreos.

There are two major things I know of that up the theft after self checkout machines. 1) people suck at using them and so stuff doesn't get scanned all the time. And 2) people don't feel bad about stealing from a machine.

Except the cashier still has to scan four items. Also, where does that stop? You've got ten bags of carrots because you're making something with them, is that still one item? Or your entire cart of "12" items is entirely doubles. Now you might be joking, but people legitimately try and claim it.

If they're sealed bags of carrots, then they're individual items priced by the package (which is technically by weight, but not in the system). The idea being that you don't get to pick out the specific carrots and so you get it for less than if you picked them out and did them by weight.

where I work, we are actually supposed to do this (within reason, so no taking a full cart, but a couple items extra is fine). In fact, if a regular lane is empty, we're technically supposed to wait at the end and guide people to our register. No one does that, but corporate would love it if we did.

I also got the stevia lemonade water enhancer. Did not like it. But since watermelon is so powerful, mixing only a little of it in with the lemonade makes a drink I will drink. Stevia is still there, but yeah, my guess that the watermelon flavor would cover it? Valid.

After all, I had a similar experience with strong flavors when first getting used to sucralose (I used to not be able to stand ANY of the artificial sweeteners). Nope. I just derped and didn't pay attention to the packaging. Though I did get slightly lucky in a way.

Their package shape is the same, but the stevia ones do have it on the front. Anyway, I just grabbed the watermelon strawberry one and it is one that uses sucralose, but I missed that. It does taste good, but is quite powerful as watermelon flavoring can be, so I figured it was hiding the stevia.

Dang it. Tricked myself. I've been trying to get so I'm alright with the taste of Stevia because I've looked up and been told that it's for some degree, better for me than sucralose and friends. So I've been trying the Aldi's water enhancers and some use stevia and some don't.

When I ran an express lane, I would enforce it. The problem is that if they've already started unloading onto the belt, it ends up taking more time to get them to pack back up and move to a regular register, so I'd only do it if I caught them before that.

Though yeah, there are reasons the New Republic didn't field Star Destroyers and Tie Fighters. The image of them has been thoroughly ruined by the Empire.

If you don't see this, I don't blame you. I mostly browse the gram feed and so only see posts with pics. Rarely do I dip into regular follows as Everytime, it causes me a bit of panic. I'm careful about who I follow, but there is only so much you can do when everything is burning.

You could do that in a cool way if you do honestly like the design of their bridge. You take said bridge and you add a bunch of Rebellion graffiti and man it a bunch of non-humans. You know, having it be a captured Destroyer or some such. Still a little sketchy, but at least not full on nonsense.
