My dad, avid bird watcher, used to shoot at cats coming into our yard with a bb gun 🫤 This was decades ago, I got him to stop, but there are still people like this out there. My cousin does it right: takes cats to her fenced in yard to roam+airtag collars for when they manage to sneak out (rare).
