I remember watching a documentary about the invasive red swamp crayfish in Berlin and how a company was supplying them whole to the restaurant trade. Maybe these calico crayfish on the Rhine could be, at least partially, dealt with this way. youtu.be/HZWk7aqM3Tk?...

A Sydney Spiny Crayfish crossing the trail in Royal National Park where he'll find a damp ditch to set up home by digging a deep burrow into the mud. This formidable fellow is around 15cms (6") in length and his presence is a good sign that the Hacking River is in pretty good shape. #nature #WildOz

Get those nasty red swamp invaders!
The Hooded Merganser is a handsome diving duck with a taste for crustaceans, small fish, and aquatic insects, which they hunt entirely by sight. Their eyes are specially adapted to account for light refraction underwater, making them fearsome—but undeniably beautiful—hunters of crayfish.
