It's quite fun.
I don't recommend my own. I recommend other authors instead. And I know for a fact that one Bluesky author just maybe got a sale.
Or got new eyes on their work anyway. I'm happy.

Just one??? It's a tough call, but I think my answer is Nadja from What We Do in the Shadows. Sure, it's comedy, but she is also absolutely happy to kill. I like vamps to have a monster and a human side.

It’s Wednesday!
Time to chat about writing and writing horror.
As ever, please save links/promo for the outro and only AFTER you've answered the questions and interacted with your fellow horror writers chat folks.
Here’s Question 1 - Who will bite first?

Sometimes when I feel stuck with a piece it can help to get into a discussion about it with friends—I truly love my friends’ brains—. When that’s not an option just sitting down with a book, a videogame or whatever it is that caters to my weekly obsessions will do the trick:)
As writers, we have an inner reservoir of ideas, inspiration, and energy; our Creative Well. We need to feed often aka replenish our creative energy and inspiration.
Q4 asks about your choice of nourishment.

My latest dystopian culinary grief novel, WHERE THE SOUL GOES, is having its cover reveal and pre-order announcement at 6 PM EST/3PM PST. Influenced by Anthony Bourdain, Simon Stalenhag, and Hunter S. Thompson!

I struggle a lot with taking breaks to replenish, despite knowing it's a must to prevent burnout and lack of "flow".

Thank you @marywyrd.bsky.social!
The horror anthology I'm in is the number 1 new release on Amazon for the last couple of weeks--it would be awesome if some of the incredibly talented folks on this chat have a chance to check it out! Great meeting everyone!

Also, a reviewer said that my book was like "A more serious Hot Fuzz" and I'm still tickled by that

It's me! Yanni! I am all over the spectrum when it comes to writing horror, but I do adore splatterpunk.
My favorite vampire? Eric Northman.
