“The presence of frogs is often a mark of a healthy ecosystem, something we should strive to preserve.” – David Attenborough

Things are happening at Portland's ICE facility tonight.

So, there's a whole discussion that Christians never read about whether one plague of Egypt was a plague of frogs or of frog, but it may soon be settled for the U.S.

Not that the country is Biblical Egypt. Or Rome. Or... seriously, I could keep going on.
Someone in a frog costume stands next to a smiling man in a jacket with a walking stick (oh, I have one of those!) in front of ICE gates in Portland. At least four other people are crouched down in front on the lower left side.

It is, sincerely, exactly what I needed after listening to a coked-up AI bro for an hour tonight.

Someone write this, please. I still have redlines to finish from something else.

And lo the children's book follows in a thread under this comment. Goddamn, but I love it here.

There's a whole children's book in that frame.

And Shark swam up to Polar Bear, who was standing on an ice floe.

"What are you doing?" asked Shark.

"Do you see Peacock there? Who does not belong above the Arctic Circle?"

"Yes," said Shark.

"Peacock has inspired me," said Polar Bear.

"Inspired what?"

"My diffidence," replied Polar Bear.

As soon as I saw someone making Frog and Toad distinctions, I wanted to write something like this, but I will never make one as good.
drgeoffreym.bsky.social
It's a white dog! Look at that chin!

What was the last polar bear you met who looked like that? (Not counting Gerard, because, wow, I like him, but he's not a great example.)

I missed a lot by never having a console, apparently.

I am disconsolate.
drgeoffreym.bsky.social
Oh! That is going to cost me Canadian points.

This is my dance about how much transphobes suck (now that I have accepted the fact that I won't be allowed into the U.S. again ever).

Bless you all, Portland. And curse you for making me work out the alt text for this specific image.
People dressed up as a shark, some kind of white dog, and... maybe a peacock? Or colourful turkey?

Text overlay: After our interview, the frogs were joined by a couple of unicorns, a polar bear, an axolotl, a raccoon, and several more characters.

I love that part, though! Probably a good reason for me just to make worlds and let someone else occupy them with plot.

So many gods floating in my memory without their temple to be their home. (4/4)

Those statues are immortal, like gods in a great and expansive shrine, but the roof is starting to fall and I never thought that was the part to guard.

I suppose we never do. (3/4)
drgeoffreym.bsky.social
I composed my images, signs, ideas (after, though smaller than, Bruno's infinitely unfolding cosmos) in a banquet hall of my own.

Every statue, I decorated and adorned with its own memory. (2/4)

Simonides saw the roof fall, and could name all the people beneath it. There, the art of memory began.

I used to know it.

Okay, but I'm keeping my "Now do..." reply corner.

I've decided to dedicate my life to confidently popping into people's replies and saying "why are people surprised by this" despite nobody, anywhere, expressing any surprise

We’re releasing 31 episodes of Wrong Station in 31 days. We’re doing this because a horrible little man who lives in a tree told us he would kill our pets if we didn’t.

This is one of those episodes. It’s called,

“IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW MANY TIMES YOU KILL US”

Dear Lord. Even though you aren't saying anything, I can hear the "Ha, ha!"
drgeoffreym.bsky.social
Thank you for being the one to call him out.

Such an excess of clothing on your shadow, but sensible for anyone holding a cat. They have too many pointy bits.
