Sorry not sorry for raging posts which may emerge from me over next few days following UK COVID 19 enquiry report.

UK Covid Inquiry concludes: 23,000 deaths could've been prevented if the March 2020 lockdown had been imposed just a week earlier.

No mistake by any prime minister in living memory has caused so many deaths in the UK.

The tragic and catastrophic price of Boris Johnson's incompetence & negligence.

Words cannot express my rage at this incompetent man and his cronies.

A reminder that seven years ago almost to the day, the CIA determined that Mohammed Bin Salman ordered the killing of @washingtonpost.com journalist Jamal Khashoggi.

I hired and worked with Jamal for a year.

He’s have an inconvenient journalist chopped up with a bone saw in a nanosecond if he could.
Just like the gurning psychopath sitting next to him did.
Q: Why wait for Congress to release the Epstein files? Why not just do it now?

TRUMP: It's not the question that I mind. It's your attitude. I think you're a terrible reporter. It's the way you ask these questions. You start off with a man who's highly respected asking him an insubordinate question

In view of the endless Storm Claudia-inspired rain today I thought it was permissible to share this shot of the Camino del Salento taken a month ago on the heel of Italy. Thank you.

Hey folks, as news of Watson's demise spreads, please don't set aside his weighty legacy of misogyny and racism. He was truly among the worst of us. www.vox.com/2019/1/15/18...
DNA scientist James Watson has a remarkably long history of sexist, racist public comments
“People say it would be terrible if we made all girls pretty,” he said in 2003. “I think it would be great.”

It was good to run the first of four @srhe.bsky.social #AcWriMo2025 sessions this week with academics appreciating protected time to #write. It's NOT a given in our workloads even though it's expected and part of performance management. Next session is Monday. #HigherEducation # academia

Every year on #Halloween we carve a #Pumpkin from our collection of Penguin Books. 🎃

We're up to our elbows here in juicy plots and seedy characters. Luckily there's not much pulp fiction. 🎃

OBAMA: It's fair to say that 80% of the world's problems involve old men hanging on who are afraid of death and insignificance, and they won't let go. They build pyramids, and they put their names on everything. They get very anxious about it.

Why are the American president's claims about autism the first item on British news bulletins?

He's not our president, the advice doesn't apply here and he's not presented any evidence to support his assertions.

So why spread these claims? What make this the biggest story in the UK?

In Swedish, a word for what you eat to bridge the gap between meals (or while waiting for the main course to cook) is stödmacka. It means "support sandwich."

A similar word in Norwegian is ventepølse, or "waiting sausage."
