I was never suuuper worried about balance in this game. The fun isn't in how well you can strategize to defeat your opponent; it's in the story.
As mentioned before, since dueling comes down to a single dice roll, and this game is PbtA, Duelists will tend to win more often than not.

I was never suuuper worried about balance in this game. The fun isn't in how well you can strategize to defeat your opponent; it's in the story.
