If one is specifically *not* invited to an event it would be very bad form to turn up (especially to a funeral).
It is then even worse form to attack the person for refraining from attending.

Great post about the nuances of eugenics. Was part of my PhD so I know Austn progressives were very fond of ‘positive eugenics’ to ensure the ‘best’ folks bred more. Horrid eugenic policies like forced institutionalisation were also a thing, but not all horrid policies were eugenics!
Historian of eugenics here. I don't normally like to retweet bad arguments, but this is such a fundamental misunderstanding of eugenics, I think it's important to point out. I don't have time to debunk all of the ways this is inaccurate, but I'll highlight a few things and then recommend some books🧵

I’m flabbergasted by the rampant evil of those running the so-called civilised world. You know, the ones who are stealing countries, doing criminal deals, flogging cars that burn their drivers alive …
And smaller scale evils, like salmon farms, ill-placed stadiums, destroyed libraries … 😭
