Great to work with partners inc @rbgkew.bsky.social & @naturalengland.bsky.social to produce the new #GBRedList for vascular plants.

The bad news: 26% of wild plants are under threat, up from 23% in 2005.

The good news: Conservation action works, as partners @plantlifeuk.bsky.social have shown!
While 1 in 4 UK plants remain threatened, the Red List offers a roadmap for recovery - proof that action works. We’re proud to have contributed alongside experts from @bsbibotany.bsky.social, @ukceh.bsky.social, @naturalengland.bsky.social & others 💚

Very excited to announce that our collaborative manifesto for 🌱 #PlantScience #Education has now been published! Educators from >10 countries and 30 institutions have contributed to it and we are incredibly proud of the final output. Here is a short thread 🧵1/4 doi.org/10.1002/ppp3...
A manifesto for plant science education
Plants provide oxygen, food, shelter, medicines and environmental services, without which human society could not exist. Tackling pressing and global challenges requires well-trained plant scientists....

Ask the Government stops allowing energy companies to charge the same price as gas for much cheaper to produce renewable electricity. Please sign and share! This will reduce bills overnight. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...
Petition: Ban cheap renewable energy from being charged at the price of expensive gas
Mandate energy providers to stop charging the same price as expensive gas for much cheaper renewable energy. We think they should pass any savings on to consumers, rather than keeping them as profit.

1) This is why I think we are all doomed. I started this petition demanding electricity from renewables (over 50% of all electricity now in the UK) be detached from the much more expensive cost of wholesale gas. petition.parliament.uk/petitions/72...
