To me, this is not about knowing what is or being "right", but I've always taken it as what we should do when it comes to injustice.

We have come to far to turn back now. We leave in a great country & we can continue on the path to making it better for all, not just the few.

If a grad or undergrad researcher in my lab said to me, "We are doing the studies to make the proof", I would have them retake research methods course and/or a philosophy of science course.

Chicago Pastor Shot by ICE speaks to CNN in first TV interview: "We could hear them laughing". He was shot in the head with pepper balls while praying in front of an ICE facility. As he was recovering he was sprayed at close range in the face with a gas.
He said Noem lied about the incident.

Can you put into words what that purpose is? You and the frog have really become icons of this protest.

There’s been a nice overall whimsy that has shown up. The frog is amazing. We had a bunch of other inflatable people here last night, too. I saw people playing Twister the other day.

What they rely on is fear. So by coming out in an absurdist manner, it speaks to them, to some extent, that we’re actually not that afraid.

It also dismantles their narrative a little bit. When they try to describe this situation as “war-torn,” it becomes much harder to take them seriously when they have to post a video saying [U.S. Secretary of Homeland Security] Kristi Noem is up on the balcony staring over the Antifa Army and it’s, like, eight journalists and five protesters and one of them is in a chicken suit.

Thread: I might add that this fits within the intergroup conflict narrative (Us vs. Them) this administration pushes for just about everything, as well. Making unauthorized migrants as the "scary other" helps cover a lot of the things this administration is doing.

Given these numbers, we might ask why he makes so much noise about undocumented migrants on Medicaid.

I'd argue maybe because: the real goal is to cut the Medicaid that legally goes to US citizen kids of undocumented migrants, but that's politically a harder sell.
