What do think is the most beautiful reef fish?
Starting February 22, I’ll be painting one reef fish per day for 100 days. I need your help with a prompt list. So far, I have 10 suggestions for ‘iconic’ reef fish, but I need 90 ideas. Reply to vote for ‘prettiest’ #sciart #coralreefs #marinelife

Kind of a lot of my paper models come from here: creativepark.canon/en/index.html and from the Japanese version of the site. Others are from flying pig, paperpino, and an old Japanese site called Paper Museum.

I've decided to start some discourse. But at least it's ancient discourse you may not have seen yet.

Oreodonts are extinct mammals that looked similar to pigs and sheep, but were more closely related to camels. They are the most commonly found fossil in the White River Badlands in South Dakota, and this exceptional specimen from our collection shows an oreodont curled up inside its burrow.

Ammonites were abundant in the seas during the Jurassic Period. Ammonites are shelled cephalopods, a class of marine animals that include octopuses, squid, cuttlefishes and nautiluses. Ammonites have retractable tentacles for catching small prey, although some species filter-fed for small plankton.

Mopping will not happen today. To be fair, I did spend all of yesterday cleaning and organizing the laundry closet and doing laundry and scrubbing the bathroom. 🤷

Apologized to my partner for not, as I said I intended to try, cleaning out the cupboards under the sink. My partner said it was fine, no rush. I have now done it.

It's weird, I'm more likely to do shit if I tell my partner I won't get to it today. And even more likely when they say it's fine.

#MolluskMonday represents today with Nautilus, a modern chambered cephalopod. Like ammonites, nautiloids have an external conch and lived in the final chamber, using the camerae for floatation. However, ammonites were much more closely related to coleoids like Spirula, with its intenal conch. ⚒️🧪

Think the height on this could come down by about a quarter. Either bent and twisted or cut and regrown more compact.
