When we talk about video game stories I think there is too much emphasis on plot points and not enough on the execution (writing, lighting/music, how mechanics support and enhance the story etc).

People say Infinite Jest is like Ulysses and it’s completely not. Not even slightly. They are both just long books with complicated vocabulary. Now Gravity’s Rainbow though is very Ulysses-ean lol, I may need to listen to someone tell me what the fuck I just read after I finish this too lol
