Color tattoo of the character Astarion from Baldur’s gate. There are lines suggesting fire/flames hind the character. This is further enforced by the use of back-lighting to inform the artist’s color choices. The tattoo is primarily made up of the colors black, blue, yellow, pink, and red. Colorful, crayon-style tattoo of a terrier-esque dog jumping amongst bushes and flowers. Blue dotted lines in the background depict sprinkler water. The overall vibe of the tattoo is very joyful and carefree. All the colors used are basic colors, such as those you’d find in a box of crayons markers. Tattoo of the characters Aryll and Link from Legend of Zelda Wind Waker. Aryll is chasing Link while holding a pig. Color tattoo of a feminine figure in a float-y pose; they are surrounded by stars and sparkles around their head and at their feet are what appears to be puffs of smoke.

lately I’ve been revisiting pencil and I feel like I actually draw more intentionally with it. When I lightly lay down a foundation then go over it with more confident lines I feel like I’m sculpting the drawing.

From mid high school through college I drew almost exclusively in pen because I read that it builds mark-making confidence. I think it’s absolutely true to an extent, but I have a hard time shaking off the idea that I’m not a “good” artist if I can’t draw something straight in pen

Doing house chores, is it me leaving my mark on the space or is it the space that defines my identity and role?
A ghostly figure in the kitchen. The drawing focuses its hands holding a cup, while its face is cut off and its outline is disappearing into the background A ghostly figure in the kitchen. The shape of the figure is defined by the dark background since the figure itself is the unrendered negative space in the composition

Some transgender people see only darkness in front and behind them.

The current climate is especially accelerating this.

Transgender people just want to love the people they love and live their lives as themselves.
Let's all join hands and change the world🫶🌏🫶

Podcast where I review films based on how integral the sex scenes are to the plot.

Weapons: 0/10 (you can cut the sex scene and the movie still works)
Oldboy: 10/10 (sex scene is important for the ending to work)
A Bug's Life: 0/10 (no sex scene)

Steven Universe clothes line ✨💗👖
Cute, colorful tattoo of a pink shirt with a yellow star, and a pair of jeans on a clothes line. Stars and sparkles surround the clothes and there is the suggestion of wind and movement

Seeing the Bill Watterson originals full of pencil lines of stuff that didn’t work, scuffs the eraser didn’t pick up, white out galore and more was something I needed to see to remind myself that nothing is perfect the first go and tweaks need to be made and you’re allowed to try again.

This country is making me sad and scared but that’s a good excuse to try to do some more good. I’m raising money with this sticker to help support Brave Space Alliance, a black and trans run organization. Community spaces are so important in uncertain times. 100% of profits donated!

Sorry I didn’t know how to end it once I got the main points out (2/2)
Artist asking a tattoo client if they are ready (to get tattooed).

Text reads: I’m still an artist. I delight in telling people I’m an artist. I’m just taking some time to redefine what being a creative looks like and means to me. Artist dismayed looking at some shitty work they just did.

Text reads: I do spend some time grieving what I expected of myself when I was 17. I grieve the person I thought I was before executive dysfunction and skill regression and other mental health hiccups. Artist dancing with a sunflower.

Text reads: But now I have to nurture the version of myself that is here. It is scary, uncertain, and hard as duck. I will forget I felt any of this when my luteal phase starts. Tulip and sunflower making out.

Text reads: at least I’ll have these drawings as proof that I did at some point feel self-assured. That I am doing ok, and that

Life update maybe (1/2)
Drawing of the artist excitedly saying: Idk where this came from, but I suddenly feel the need to express (& document via comic) that…

Drawing of the artist gleefully riding an idealized animal cell, arms outstretched, surrounded by floating phospholipids; text reads: I’m so glad I went back to school! Drawing of the artist as an awkward teen, artist in a cramped cubicle pulling back the curtain and saying: This box is my home!

Text under drawing reads: When I went to CalArts, I felt like a pace was set up for me, and I had to keep up or I was a failure. Drawing of the artist crying in the corner of a mail room while someone nonchalantly talks on the phone and picks up their mail beside them. Thought bubble above artist reads: Who gets their mail at 3am?

Text below reads: You could argue that I didn’t have to give in to the pressure, or that I fabricated those standards in my head, but I started college when I was just 17. I had a narrow idea of what I needed to do to “make it” and I trusted the adults around me. Artist walking through school campus, text below reads: But at a community college, where my classmates are all ages and at various stages of life, I feel much more at ease. I feel like I’m doing exactly what I need to do, for myself, at this stage in my life.

I’m sorry you’re going through this and it’s causing you any doubt; I found myself in a similar mindset and applied to community college as a result (I’m taking courses for something not art-related now :..))
