Nearly two years here, time for a new #introduction post: I go by Dynamognathus/Dynamoterror, I like drawing, wildlife, natural history, drawing the natural history of wildlife, gardening, spec-evo, and my dear boyfriend @seismic-shrimp.bsky.social (who does amazing art and who you should follow).
Yesterday’s flocking #paleostream sketches, in shadowy forms: Lepidodendron, Baryonyx, Champsosaurus, and Genyornis. No I don’t have a favorite. #paleoart #pleistocene #cretaceous #paleozoic

Four species of cetacean can be found in the Seridic wetlands. Only the Seridic river dolphin (top) is a permanent resident. The other three (estuarine dolphin, river whale, and Crescent narwhal) venture with high waters during the wet season then retreat to estuaries and the gulf during dry months.

Tuatara were mistaken for lizards when first encountered by Western naturalists. Now we know they're Earth's last rhynchocephalian: a lineage related to squamates. The clade is successful in Kaimere, though only one is found in the known world: the Shezi.

My cabbages!

An aurochs has broken into a vegetable garden. While curious kids and domesticated cattle watch, a courageous farmer attempts to chase it away.

This scene takes place in Poland around 1400 AD.

If any of y’all have the chance to visit this exhibition, please go see it, it’s genuinely some of the most breathtaking art I have ever seen. In a “how is an earthly being capable of creating something like this” sort of way. #art #botany

While bovines have not spread far beyond the known world, within its confines, there are numerous species that are quite successful. Perhaps chief among these are the buffalos, with the Seridic wetlands being home to a massive population of water buffalo.

A quick doodle for the final day of #GarWeek, a large melanistic Alligator Gar cruises underneath an oblivious Ocelot somewhere in the bayous of Louisiana. A scene that may have happened several times in the past, and may continue to occur if both species are valued and protected. #wildlife #sciart
