Like, there have been times when I've been alerted by the rumble strip alongside a lane that I need to take a powernap before I microsleep and die. This "feature" would stop me from ever hitting the rumble strip?? DO NOT WANT.

I turn off this "feature" in MARIO KART because I don't want some algorithm deciding it knows better than me how I want to steer, even in a zero-consequences video game

I can't even begin to describe how freaked out I am by the concept of a Real Life Car making those sorts of decisions for me

On a recent roadtrip our rental car had a course correction feature that would nudge you back inside a lane if it sensed you were crossing a line on the road

One of my brothers demonstrated how the car could take a corner on the highway by itself using this feature

it was fucking terrifying

Last week I received a letter telling me that I had violated LAPD IP with my FUCK THE LAPD design. Today my lawyer @questauthority.bsky.social responded.

A letter written in response to a DMCA claim re: LAPD copyright. The entirety of the body of the letter reads, “LOL, no.”

A letter claiming DMCA violation re: artwork including the words “FUCK THE LAPD.”

(When I say "accidentally trapped a mouse inside the house" I mean that when it's warm I often leave the back doors open for fresh air, and I think the mouse must have snuck in and then had no way to get out after I locked up for the night.)

For the last week I've been leaving food for it at the farthest part of the house from the rats' cage. Today the no-kill trap I ordered arrived, and I've set it up with the same food I've been leaving out all week.

I accidentally trapped a mouse inside our house a week ago. It got so desperate for food that it snuck into my rats' cage - but thankfully fled before any of my girls made a snack out of it.

Thankfully none of my usual cycle routes pass under conker trees, but yesterday I was in a different part of town to meet a former colleague... the thing really did hit with quite a bit of force, another good reason to wear a helmet!
