We were told that a friend's teenage child claimed that this track was a "banger" 🤣. I laugh, but I gotta admit it kinda is.

I've always been a sucker for some flute. This track abides on the intro. Overall, this track is smooth, a solid example of soulful 80s RnB with nice groove and strong vocals. Recommend bumping this while cruising through traffic.

Damn, when that bass and drums kicks in on the one after the first couple guitar notes.... oooweee, how can I be expected to stand still. Strings, horns bring substance to the arrangement.
"I love you for what you are..."
That's how I feel about this song. So many quotable in this song to boot.

I loved the fire from point guard Pat. Pat might not be the best player in the world, but he ain't never been scared.
Pat Spencer pounding his chest and yelling "I'M THAT MOTHERFUCKER" at the Sixers crowd has me dying

This track takes a little while to get moving, but the percussion rhythms make my head nod appropriately. Add some simple but effective synth work, a nice guitar riff or two, a consistent bass line and this track turns into groovy listening. Don't sleep on the "jungle" sounds, even a Tarzan sample.

Nice rock steady feeling track. Feels a little rough around some of the edges, but that gives it a more natural feeling. Life is not perfect, and maybe music recordings don't need to be either. Nice warm guitar solo too, can't be mad.

How can you not love the name of this band? Interesting track with multiple distinct movements. Easy to listen to.

Beginning of this track would make for a nice sample to chop/loop behind some hip hop drum breaks.

Don't get me started on lyrics though 😂
"when you actually listen critically quite a lot of the music you love sounds technically awful"
I can't remember this ever happening for me. I'll often find aspects that could be done better, but don't think I ever heard a song that I thought was recorded/mixed terribly, but still thought was good.

Sample what you want. Deal with the repercussions later.
This can kill new art for entire genres and possibly the genre as a whole. House music, vaporwave, breakcore, boombap, DnB, vgm(at times), hip hop, to name a few. The amount of work to clear samples is expensive and rarely does the money spent go to the artist(or the estate) being sampled.
Whosampled is now owned by spotify meaning that record labels have it even easier to completely chuck indie artists out the window and make em bankrupt too. Buy directly or find other ways to get songs cause streaming was fucked before for indie artists, now its done in.
