This is hard to reconcile with the UK I lived in 10 years ago. It was never a left-wing wonderland, especially if you weren't white and privileged, but it also didn't seem this overtly authoritarian. That's what I find chilling: the shamelessness with which a Labor government is doing this.

Sometimes I think I'd like to stop accepting new information into my brain. I've accidentally become familiar with Spanian who is apparently a rapper, queerphobe and "kebab influencer" as I live not far from his food truck, and every time I pass by it, I think to myself "We've gone too far into time. I was never supposed to live this long and know things like Spanian."

When you go back to uni to retrain as a librarian with dreams of igniting a love of literature in young people, no-one tells you that you might end up in an overcrowded public school blocking the doorway as the library bouncer, making sure teenagers don't smuggle in contraband (food and laptops).

Yeah definitely! It is so refreshing to see not just one way of being a woman but many different ways, all awesome. Like Dee Salmin, Darcy Moore's partner, only strayed from the script slightly at the Brownlow and copped it in the loser comments sections. I thought she looked fierce and hot

I'm watching the Dally M (the NRL B&F, not my choice of programming) But fair play, it's the awards for the mens and womens comps so women aren't treated as only good for the red carpet. There are women of all shapes and sizes there, women in dresses, women in tuxes, women on stage. It's good stuff

This is also really disappointing from Patrick Dangerfield if he's been an active particIpant in the "joke". He sits on the AFLPA board. He should be leading the way for players coming out, not doing Brokeback Mountain jokes in the year 2025. I'd be horrified if any of my union leaders did this
