I was enjoying an audiobook of Frankenstein when 💥boom💥 an anti-Asian literary landmine pops up. It's just a clause in a sentence but enough to make frown long.

I keep going only to hit a whole Islamaphobic rife with stereotypes. Mary Shelley, you disappoint me.

This is the BEST! I watched the Black Barbie documentary on Netflix and my daughter was do taken by the Shanindolls I got her one on ebay for her birthday.

I'm grateful we got to reconnect
last year, at his sister/ my cousin's wedding. It was a beautiful memory, I just couldn't imagine it being our last together.
But here I am now, wishing I gave
more hugs and that we took more photos.

I have family in the panhandle of Florida. When I read the headlines from liberal, hurricane-free Maryland, I wonder how they can stand it.

Then they take to the beach. And I remeber that the Gulf of MEXICO (emphasis, mine) might be the loveliest body of water I've ever experienced.

A great production! I've only seen the movie and heard of the musical, so seeing the straight play in Spanish (with subtitles) felt like closest I would get to reading the novel with Manuel Puig's spirit and intention.
