Sometimes the only way I can keep getting up everyday, what with the country and world being how it is right now, is because all I can do is put nice things into the world. And if that's just well localized manga that people enjoy...well, then I can get up tomorrow too.

Lettering pays poorly. I work a full-time office job to support my passion of lettering manga. I don't dislike AI localization because I see it as a threat to my livelihood, I dislike it because it is profane. An essential aspect of the job is respecting the work of the artist and writer.

For example: If an industry-heavy anime con wants to talk about, say, fansubs, and scanlations, they should get an actual historian of the medium to discuss it so they can frame it properly.
Or better yet, shelve that idea and get actual translators to talk theory and industry, which is more useful
