FWIW I don’t think this country has ever really recovered from the 2008 financial crisis… and the fact that someone in the cabinet was working against the national interest at that moment has had far reaching and hugely damaging consequences…

Spoke to Shleagh Fogarty yesterday sbout why the Chancellor is wrong: our “student loan” system is not remotely fair. It’s regressive and embedding inter and intra generational wealth inequality. It’s not a loan system, it’s a bad grad tax in all but name.

Always sad to see ‘politics of students’ used in such a derogatory way… bit disingenuous in particular to the students who voted for, organised for and door knocked for Labour 12 months ago!
FWIW the country would be in a better place if Westminster politics more closely mirrored student politics!
