Regardless of our admiration for directing legends like Mann and Miller, Cinephilia & Beyond will not hesitate to call for a boycott of their films if they persist in insisting on AI and incorporating this fraudulent practice into their filmmaking process.
Making Heat 2 involves significant risk and expense, and incorporating AI could potentially lead to a disastrous outcome. We can only quote another filmmaker—and a big fan of Michael Mann—who made a clear statement at the same Lumiere Festival: “AI can go fuck itself!”
