The ancestor of modern house cats came from dry climates, so are poorly adapted for the life aquatic.
Fur becomes wet, heavy & loses insulation.
So the occasional outlier is remarkable: enter the Van cats, a feral group that live around Lake Van, the largest lake in Turkey.
They're swimmers.

ראיתי שוב את Idiocracy ואם פעם זו היתה קומדיה קלילה עכשיו היא מספיק קרובה למציאות (במיוחד עם כל קישוטי הזהב ואולם הנשפים) שאם היו מוציאים את הסרט עכשיו זה היה נתפס כסרט פוליטי שמלגלג על הממשל.

Terrific story about Rob Reiner being as much of a mensch in real life as he seemed.
I’m just going to tell the story. Back in 2000 I was volunteering for the Gore campaign when he came along with Julia Louis-Dreyfus, Alfre Woodard and Dule Hill to a GOTV event here in MN. He ended up sitting down across from me stuffing his envelopes.
