This is the end of a longish but very interesting thread and pairs a bit with what I wrote about today re: uncertainty that we will actually never be able to conquer. I think that predictability is what people are after. That and COMMUNITY [yes, there's that word again but I am right, lol].
Anyway, this turned into a ramble, but the whole point is that I think a lot of the discontent currently expressed in economic terms is only expressed that way because those are the only terms available. Taking it too literally & responding technocratically is a mistake. Deeper shit is afoot. </fin>

Seeing how much of the right-wing on Twitter is just bot farms, kinda lays bare how much hate and hatred is a project that needs to be constantly maintained, a fire that needs to be fed all the time lest it go out for a moment, so much time, effort, and resources to keep people angry and hateful.

Relatedly: it’s still low key mindboggling that the war on terror and housing collapse eras of wrongdoing passed by without much hiccup. Our political class is just riddled with unpunished criminality.

i am willing to compromise by just insisting on prison terms for ICE employees. that is the moderate position.
