I think the fundamental gap here is that non-creative people think that creative people make things for the end product, when in fact it’s the act of creation and not the end point that makes it worthwhile.

Fuck YouTube. I would rather my videos stay removed than edit them to cut out the word gambling. For years, my work was about how loot boxes were gambling, and I used the word because companies didn’t want the word used.
I’d sooner lose every video than destroy the point of them.

Oh my gosh I’ve been waiting for people to wake up to this for so long.
These games feel like prime examples of “we don’t know what we actually want but our design doc is full of words like aspirational, dynamic, epic and fresh” that weren’t cancelled mid-development.
