Sir George Martin was born 100 years ago today. He and the Beatles lucked into their glorious partnership and humankind is the lasting recipient. I was privileged to work with George and hoped to mark the centenary by touring a theatre show about his life & work – but I must stay focused on writing.

It’s usually the argument that Leave My Kitten Alone was a stronger track but left off. I’ve always loved this track because it fits snugly on Beatles For Sale - and there’s no other Beatles song like it.

In terms of 60s, John and Paul’s ‘66 interview with Keith Fordyce is as relaxed (very much so) and un-PR as you’ll get.

Very much so! If said with authority, any old rubbish is easy to believe. A recent Beatles book was riddled with inaccuracies and was lauded by many. Such a shame.
