I feel like we should talk more about how The Texas Chainsaw Massacre is absolutely begging for an irreverent, semi-serious reboot, but just gets grimdark boring slop sequels to the original film instead.

There should be a Freddy's Nightmares show but for the Saw movies. Just an anthology series about all the zany people living their lives in Saw City, and how every so often one of them gets dragged off by a pig-masked person and saw-trapped, and it's treated like a just a thing that happens.

The Final Destination series is like the anti-Terrifier, in a way. Characters still die in ludicrous, slow, and torturous ways, but bc it happens to men and women equally, no one is left wondering if the director secretly has a skin suit made from women's corpses in his closet.

Also, do give this movie a go if you have shudder and enjoy folk horror. Irish language movies are few and far between, and I genuinely want this movie (and "An Taibshe" which also came out last year) to be a success.
Finally getting to watch this bc it never got a theatrical release (or at least not near where I live). I'm still angry that they've called it "Fréwaka" and not "Fréamhacha" which is less silly and ACTUALLY CORRECT, but Irish language movies are so rare that I can't complain. #horrorsky #nowwatching
