Lying under oath? Seriously? The case against Comey is as hypocritical as it is weak and incompetent. From Trump on down, this is an administration people who got their jobs by misleading and outright lying to Congress. My latest at @thebulwark.com

We’re Led by an Administration of Liars
Trump insisted Comey be prosecuted for supposedly lying to Congress—but his own administration is full of officials who lied to Congress.

Slava Ukraine
Today is Holodomor Remembrance Day. Trump is marking it by selling Ukrainians into slavery under his friend, Vladimir Putin.

Is it too early to ask how may people Donald Trump has turned into criminals by directing them to break the law?
“Junior officers, fearing potential legal exposure, asked military lawyers for written sign-off before taking part in strikes...

“It does not appear that such memos were furnished.

“Some personnel are worried they might need attorneys” under a new administration

White House blew past legal concerns in deadly strikes on drug boats
The Trump administration sidestepped skeptical lawyers across national security agencies as it pursued a military campaign against alleged narcotraffickers, officials say.

This story, phrased as always in vague obfuscations about the horror involved, interposed with the timeline’s other RFK Jr. storyline is quite something this morning.
Breaking News: Robert F. Kennedy Jr. said he personally instructed the CDC to abandon its position that vaccines do not cause autism. The move underscores his determination to challenge scientific orthodoxy — in this case, that vaccines save lives — and bend the health department to his will.
RFK Jr. Says He Instructed CDC to Change Vaccines and Autism Language on Website
In an interview, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. cited gaps in vaccine safety research. His critics say he is ignoring a larger point: Vaccines save lives.

ICE, which has seen its budget triple, said it did not have the resources to maintain videos of detainees
ICE’s Detention Center outside Chicago was sued on October 30 for allegedly abusing detainees. One day later, a "system crash" lost all video footage that could have shown how detainees were being treated. trib.al/QwT3aqI

Good that JK called him out on the Walmart lie, but he let Hassett get away with saying inflation is down since Biden. It's not down. October 2024 inflation was 2.6%. October 2025 inflation was 2.9%. Also, average gas price is slightly higher now than November 2024.
KARL: The president claims that Thanksgiving costs are down 25%. Does he know that's not true?

HASSETT: Well if you look at Walmart--

KARL: Wait a minute. I've gotta stop you. The Walmart package this year contains much less than the one last year. That's why the price is less.

We just had our first snow. Soon there won’t be any lawn work, so there won’t be Latino men doing low-wage work standing outside that they can find by chopper & drone & direct Border Patrol from the air to the right house to kidnap men for gardening while brown.

And he has written one of the most compelling, comprehensive accounts of the ongoing hell in Chicago that you could possibly imagine.
