I was raw vegan for a time, which is MUCH less extreme than raw fruitarian, back before the influencer ecosystem was in its modern form. One thing that really stood out to me was the people claiming that menstruation was the body shedding toxins and therefore it was good and healthy for it to stop.
Karolina spent years idolizing raw vegan influencers on Instagram. She went to Bali to meet them — and never came home.
