Under my Standing Authorities as Commander-in-Chief, this morning, the Secretary of War, ordered a lethal kinetic strike on a vessel affiliated with a Designated Terrorist Organization (DTO) conducting narcotrafficking in the USSOUTHCOM area of responsibility — just off the Coast of Venezuela. Intelligence confirmed the vessel was trafficking narcotics, was associated with illicit narcoterrorist networks, and was transiting along a known DTO route. The strike was conducted in International Waters, and six male narcoterrorists aboard the vessel were killed in the strike. No U.S. Forces were harmed. Thank you for your attention to this matter!!!!!!

That's an accurate statement. It becomes deceiving because when you're on here, it feels like the world is aware, but the reality is that it's just a small sample size.

A friend of mine is pretty good friends with some folks in the southern states who seem to be unaware of most of this.

Back in the day before Charles I was executed, it was regular for him to close parliament in order to not have to deal with any opposition. I believe only when he needed money to raise armies etc did he reopen parliament.

It's how incompetent and dangerous kings do it.

It wouldn't hurt to let the people know what the four pillars of democracy are. Then people might start to understand why each does what it does and sometimes (as in the case of the right wing dominated press who endlessly criticise the other three rather than seek the truth) poorly.
