As we celebrate National Poll Worker Recruitment Day today, poll workers' service is more vital than ever.

One of the best ways to learn about why our elections are secure is to become a part of them, CEIR Executive Director @beckerdavidj.bsky.social said.
Happy National Poll Worker Recruitment Day! Today, CEIR honors those who make our elections possible.

So after years of bluster, incl yesterday on the courthouse steps, Lindell joins the long list of others (Giuliani, Lake, Fox News) who, when offered the chance to present evidence - in court - of their claims of alleged election fraud, conceded and ran away.
NEW: Attorneys for MyPillow Guy Mike Lindell said in opening statements at his defamation trial in Denver that they won’t present evidence of his claim that the 2020 election was rigged. “It’s just words. All Mike Lindell did was talk,” said Lindell’s attorney. #copolitics

“The ability of the DOJ to enforce laws that protect the American people from discrimination, from fraud, from illegal activity, is being decimated,” said David Becker of @electioninnov.bsky.social, who worked in the DOJ under Presidents Clinton and W. Bush.

Trump's unconstitutional power grab over states' authority to manage elections will almost certainly be blocked by the courts, but in the unlikely event it isn't, “It will create chaos in the states, and it seems almost designed to create chaos.”

Trump’s order could force states to buy costly new voting machines
The edict could hurl elections into tumult, though lawsuits challenging the order mean it probably won’t be implemented anytime soon.

This is entirely normal, and a best practice. Under fed'l law, inactive registrations can be canceled if there's no activity for the next fed'l gen'l elections.

And "ERIC identified 255,000 of those registrations [to cancel] for Georgia election officials."

Sweeping cancellation of 455K voter registrations planned in Georgia
About 455,000 inactive Georgia voter registrations are scheduled for cancellation this summer. It will be the largest removal since Georgia set a national record in 2017.

In reality, our complex elections are more verifiable and secure than ever, thanks to the hundreds of thousands of public servants, of both parties, that run them. Rather than listen to this nonsense, go thank an election official for facilitating our voices in our democracy.
Trump: "I just think that the law firms have to behave themselves. And we've proven that. We have others that want to make a settlement also. Having to do with the elections and other things, they've behaved very badly ... our elections are very dishonest. Very corrupt."

"Foreign adversaries, particularly China, Russia and Iran, continually attempt to influence our elections," said Becker, who added that the Trump administration has "unilaterally disarmed" in that international struggle. "I'm sure leaders in Moscow and Tehran and Beijing are celebrating."
My theory on coincidences in politics ‒ I don't believe in them. Trump wants to dismantle the American election infrastructure that regulates money in campaigns and foreign interference while openly musing about seeking a third term. My USA Today column: www.usatoday.com/story/opinio...

You only have to actually look to see what President Donald Trump is trying to do. He's hoping we just keep ignoring it.

On this day 4 years ago, an angry and armed mob, incited by the losing presidential candidate, attacked the Capitol of the United States, threatening to kill the VP and members of Congress, and overturn the results of a clear and verified election. History cannot be rewritten about this fact. /1

An important thread from CEIR Executive Director @beckerdavidj.bsky.social on claims of "missing ballots."
🧵

I am still seeing claims wondering why there was a drop-off in the number of ballots cast in 2024, or talking about about "millions of missing ballots." There's an easy explanation here -- there WASN'T a significant drop-off in turnout in 2024. /1
Over 1000 days after the 2020 presidential election, nobody has produced any evidence to any court or law enforcement agency proving election fraud allegations. There are a few reports about the security and integrity of that are worth checking out.
