Palestine Action's cofounder has won his legal challenge at the High Court against the group's proscription.

Important to note that – at least for the moment – that proscription *is still in force* as the Court hasn't lifted it. So you do still risk arrest etc if you post support of the group

This is everything it should be - meticulously researched, deeply thought out, uncomfortably probing, scrupulously fair, AND ALSO outrageously entertaining.

This is how progressives should tell stories. An hour flew by.

On Eurostar earlier, a conversation struck up with a group of English trade guys, on their way back from Brussels, who felt "the English" don't "Think European".

Quick thread on why they don't need to 🧵

I just got a lovely message from a persistent fan: “So, Alex is cool about palling around with pedos is the fkn take of the year. You disgust me.”

Incredible how many people equate trying to understand why something happened to moral approval and pretending not to understand it to morality.
“I look at the performative hand-wringing, all the ‘OMG can’t believe Starmer appointed him despite all this!’ and I feel I’m in a parallel universe. Starmer appointed him BECAUSE of, not despite it. To be our interface with a corrupt WH that operates in precisely the same way. Everyone understood.”

They openly acknowledge Brrexit and being outside the EU Single market has caused long term & deep danage to the british economy but don't seem willing to reverse that damage.

There is a compelling practical case for an Irish passport office in Belfast. None of the historic objections endures to any significant extent. It is increasingly hard to explain this situation when there is such an office in Dublin, in Cork & in London.

As we edge closer to "brexit day" starting midnight 31st Jan, I'm reminded of how an old neighbour in London sent me this clip of his british sovereignty that was delivered, bang on time - in fairness, the next day.

I'm also minded to share my Favourite Brexit Benefits 🧵
