Been at this point in the game project for the last month where it's become so huge the following things have happened:

1. Weird, unpredictable bugs frequently emerging from sprawling codebase. A shocking bug yesterday: congratulations on reaching the end - oh wait you're dead.

CADENCE: A puzzle game of some sort. Isometric view of a puzzle involving isometric tiles. Some are grey, some are teal and others are tan-coloured. There are chevrons rippling across many of the grey tiles, but others have yellow lines instead. A cat sleeps on one tile to the far right.

CAPUT MORTUM: Late 90s FPS aesthetic. A cobweb strewn hall, with pillars either side. Overhead is a curved roof that is painted to look like the night sky, yellow stars against a blue blackground. A hand is visible at the base of the view. Double doors await the player at the far end. There are ornate lamps hanging from the ceiling.

DENSHATTACK!: A bright yellow carriage rolls across a neon yellow track over water towards construction scaffolding or possibly a car park, in the distance. There's a psychedelic mix of colours across the screen, with magenta and cyan dominating. Glowing cherry blossom fills the screen, coming from sakura trees either side of the waterway.

HORSES: A man sits across a table in a black-and-white first-person perspective. He stares at you with piercing eyes which are overly bright considering his face is in shadow. You both have a plate of food to eat. It is not clear what is on the plate; it may be meat. The location appears to be some rundown kitchen.

9 KINGS: Isometric view, pixel-aesthetic citybuilder game. Several buildings and fields have been built on green, grassy land, peppered with fir trees. It is Year 31. There are three cards at the bottom, labelled Midas Touch, Archer and Soldier.

APPARATUS EXAMINUS: Haunted PS2 aesthetic. In a brick room with a black stone, perhaps altar, in front of us. The room is bathed in purple light from the windows at the sides and also the archway beyond, although the image we can see through them looks like a series of shiny, concentric rings.

ARCHREBEL TACTICS: 2D pixellated game. A craft sits in the middle of a clearing, around which there are rocks and green trees that look alien. A number of figures stand around the craft. A minimap squats to the top right. A description of the objectives are listed below. Along the bottom, all of the characters at your disposal are shown.

BLIPPO+: Looks like an excerpt from a television programme. A well-dressed woman is seated and looking at us. FMV. There is a description at the bottom indicating this is 'SMALL TALK' 'LISA DUO' 'Gidget makes Small Talk with her boss'. It is featured on the BPS, Blippian Public System.

This Christmas I made a short twine that needed my two children to coordinate a search for infrastructure id codes eg. lamp post, a bridge. The reward was the final Xmas present (the board game Diatoms).

It worked great, was fun watching live video feed of my daughter running around the streets 😂

Computer display which reads:

ROLES. Designate one player as the RELAY and another player as the RUNNER.

The RUNNER will explore the external environment for identification codes.

The RELAY will enter these codes into the test program and confirm to the runner whether the input has been successful.

Please assign the roles and then continue to the test.

After seeing discussions about the game's dictionary today, I fear I might have just mistyped. It's not the first time I got the proportionally think I's in the wrong place

A very nicely written review as always, with the flavour I always expect!

However, I regret that I have to inform my favourite games writer Joel Goodwin that he was wrong about TANTALISE being missing from the word list

I think it might have been a case of a typo ;) (hopefully not a bug 😬)

Sure: it’s got foibles. It did me wrong by not recognising TANTALISE once, so I guess it was looking for what Americans do, which is TANTALIZE. Second, I lost a high point score once because I was out of mobile signal at the time, a war of tiles and geometry lost on the 5G wind.
