My grandpa (1890-1953) was a general surgeon in a small city in the Netherlands.
He noticed that there was less cervical cancer among Jewish women than among other women. He suspected male circumcision might be why. He had his sons circumcised.
He was proven correct long after his death.

Ik heb dit gelezen en net haar Wikipedia ook gelezen. Inderdaad lijkt ze een Jekyll & Hyde figuur te zijn. Vaclav Havel prijs maar ook pro-Tr*mp en het enteren en afschieten van schepen in Venezuelaanse wateren.

I met a fellow geo thru Twitter; we discussed the rapacious mining industry; he alerted me to a Canadian co that's drilling for oil in NE Namibia and I ended up writing about it and getting quoted in serious media and was interviewed by RCMP which is investigating the company for investment fraud.

I "met" interesting people on - former - Twitter and I got to meet a few of them IRL. One of them lives on the other side of the continent but he came to visit his cousin who lives elsewhere here in Nova Scotia; we all spent a day together and the cousin and her husband have become friends.
